Christmas at Bedgebury, Kent

Join in the fun at the Festive Fairground full of rides and treats and go on a hunt to find Santa’s mischievous elves and their wondrous workshop. Be enchanted on a magical trail of giant illuminated lanterns to meet the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and, of course, Alice herself. Discover a giant chess board and watch the Mad Hatter prepare for his crazy tea party. Little ones can also see Santa on stage and get a chocolate treat. New for 2020, families can enjoy glowing entertainment from a special Christmas themed UV Puppet show in the Show Barn. All aboard! Hop onto the Santa Express and see the Lightwater Valley by train.

Taking place at both Sandringham Estate in Norfolk and Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire, the Luminate events offer a stunning, sparkling trail with light play and ambient music along the way,. The mesmerising mile-long walk, will feature different themes to incorporate the magical surroundings.

Christmas at Belton, Lincolnshire

A magical mile-long trail, featuring incredible light installations and enchanting visitors with classical Christmas tunes, will transform the gardens at the National Trust's Belton House. Enter a world festooned with seasonal cheer enhanced by a soundtrack of festive classics and wander beneath unique tree canopies drenched in Christmas colour. Discover giant luminescent candles rising high into the night sky as you stroll towards the meadow of shimmering light. The trail is bedecked with giant baubles, glowing flowers and snowflakes where you least expect them. Take time to pause in the tunnel of light with a moment of quiet reflection at the water-side fire garden, aglow with hundreds of flickering flames.

Christmas at Stourhead, Wiltshire

The Tunnel of Light at the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, Cornwall

The Shipwreck Treasure Museum’s highly popular Tunnel of Lights is returning - building on the huge success of creating the UK’s longest underground tunnel of festive lights in 2019. This year promises to be even bigger, bolder and brighter with more than five kilometres of cable and over 50,000 lights to transform the subterranean passageways into a festive wonderland. From Narnia to the North Pole, through a frozen forest and a neon wood, visitors will travel through magical realms in this illuminated spectacular. While the experience will be bigger than ever, visitor capacity is being reduced to ensure everyone can safely socially-distance.

The location of Netflix’s popular Jingle Jangle will once again see Hay Hill transform into a Tunnel of Light, with 50,000 LED’s reflecting the patterns and colours of the Northern Lights, the awe-inspiring 45-metre-long tunnel is the perfect setting to get you into the festive spirit.

Illuminated Light Trail at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

The illuminated trail makes a welcome return to Blenheim Palace gardens transforming England's finest view with a bright and magical winter walk like no other. Featuring lasers and light projections, including new installations Heart of Stars that scatters light beams over the lawns and a scented fire garden on the Water Terrace. Explore the colour-changing neon tunnels and lakeside reflections to the glowing fairy Will-o-the-Wisps, all the while surrounded by a soundtrack of the sounds of Christmas.

With in-the-round staging and headphone technology, audiences will be able to fully immerse themselves in a Dickensian World. Christmas at the Bishop’s Palace, Wells, Somerset

Brighten up your winter and find some festive cheer with a visit to ‘Christmas at the Palace’ in Wells. The rooms of the medieval Palace building will each be festooned with decorations on a variety of themes, from medieval through to Victorian and include an Eco Christmas art exhibition created by children from local schools. The Gardens will also be dressing up for Christmas with a Christmas-themed family trail which will take visitors through the Palace & Gardens, leading to a nativity scene at the end. For younger visitors, a ticket can be bought to visit (at a social distance) Father and Mother Christmas for a gift. On the 12th and 19th ‘A Christmas Carol’ will be performed by costumed actors bringing Dickens’ timeless tale to life in a wholly unique way. The performance is included with entrance to the Palace & Gardens, subject to availability, and need to be booked in advance.

Rooms lit by candlelight with stockings hanging by the fire, along with a letter to Father Christmas and carrot for Rudolph will strike a comforting note; the dining room table fully dressed with a Christmas banquet fit for kings and queens, and a huge 24 foot real Christmas tree decked in gold and cream in the Chapel are just some of the delights in store.

A 'world-first' LED steam train illuminations, Hampshire

Winter is set to light up in Hampshire with a ‘world first’ spectacular steam train experience featuring a train decked out in more than 13,000 LEDs. Created by the design company behind stage light shows for Anastacia and Westlife, the one-of-a-kind illuminated steam train is on track to steam through the countryside on heritage railway the Watercress Line. The Steam Illuminations will not only see the train covered in lights, but every passenger will also get LED wristbands – creating a colourful light show, both on, and in, the train. A total of 13,174 fully controllable colour mixing LED lights and LED wristbands – which visitors can take home after the event - will be programmed to display different colours and flashing patterns.

Wreath Making Workshop
